My partner called, and the friendly woman on the phone immediately recognized the issue. She pre-ordered the part to save us time, assuring us that if she was wrong, it wouldn’t be our problem. Awesome!
Next, very promptly, Anthony arrived to save the day. After a brief adventure locating the right breaker, Anthony quickly diagnosed the issue, replaced the part, and left everything spotless. He was super nice, knew his job, and got us squared away in no time.
Pillar gave me exactly what I needed, when I needed it. They did it effectively and politely, and I'll definitely give them a call next time I have an appliance problem. You should too.
Thanks, Anthony!
I needed a part for their team to fix my furnace but it was 2-4 weeks out. When I called them today asking for a quote on a new unit because we have a newborn and can’t wait for the house to get even colder, I got a call back saying they found the part needed for the job locally.
Damien showed up and fixed our furnace within 30 minutes of hanging up the phone and telling me he was on it. Damien left a business card with me and later after he left our house I read his title as “Owner”. I can’t believe the level of service that Damien displayed today for a new family in need.
Damien could’ve taken advantage us on a new unit and maybe made a few extra bucks for his company but instead he addressed the issue with a cost friendly solution. Five stars and our new HVAC service company of choice.
Todd Steele is the best - Thank You
We are happy!
and a tech came and looked at boiler. It was clear their boiler experience was limited. The backflow was pointed as being the likely culprit. Called the backflow guy and he came over and tested it while Pillar was there. They was nothing wrong with the backflow. The backflow gentleman had to explain pressure differences and essentially backflow and pressure regulator had to be swapped. Pillar was supposed to purge the lines of air. After they left and the boiler started running again the same problem started up. They quoted me $675 to swap the backflow and regulator (no new parts). I ended up doing it myself in an hour with using one small new fitting. They also charged me $300 for the service charge. Which they really didn’t do anything. Needless to say I ended up calling a plumber/boiler specialist (MZ Plumbing). He came by and did a great job and was very knowledgable . He took apart a piece that was supposed to vent air and identified the float in there was not working and recommended replacing it.
Moral of the story, Pillar should have not taken a job they couldn’t do. They wasted my time, their time and my hard earned $300. I will never call them for future heating/cooling needs. I’m out unnecessarily almost $600 between them and the plumber. I will definitely call MZ plumber in the future for boiler or plumbing needs.
**Update of rating- While I stand by my review as it was honest and accurate, I have to give the company kudos. They saw the review, acknowledged shortcomings, and apologized for it. Something many business have a hard time doing so kudos to you guys.
When he had the fan Todd returned and installed it. He was knowledgeable, efficient, and answered all of my questions.
I will use Pillar again as needed.
This is not my 1st experience and it's always the same. Quick, efficient and affordable. The technician, Aidan was courteous, professional and knowledgeable about the repairs. I would highly recommend them for any repairs you might need. So nice to have a reputable company to call on!
I remember that I had met Damien some years ago at an event, and figured I'd give Pillar a shot.
The receptionist was kind, friendly, fast - took my information and let me know a time that a technician would come by. Not only did I have a same day appointment, they were able to make it an hour early.
John was my repair tech he had the issue diagnosed within 15 minutes, frozen condensation lines in the furnace, and gave me detailed advice on how to resolve the issue. There was no high pressure upsell for parts, just simple practical help.
I'd highly recommend Pillar Heating and Air to anyone looking for a trustworthy, friendly, upfront repair company. I was thoroughly impressed.
Great job!
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the water-like trickling sound when my furnace is on?
High efficiency 90% furnaces have a by-product of water vapor. This water vapor returns to the furnace through the exhaust PVC and is then drained. The sound is normal. In some cases also, it can be the condensation from you A/C Evaporator Coil. If at anytime you notice water pooling around your furnace, call us as soon as possible.
When should furnace filters be changed?
Many factors can contribute to air filters becoming dirty at various intervals, so frequency of air filter replacement depends on several factors. For instance, homes near factories or airports or homes with pets may accumulate dust or debris more often. Furnace filters should generally be changed when there is visible dirt accumulated on the filter which is typically every 3 months, in most cases. Airflow is restricted by dirty filters and this can cause increasing loss of heating and air conditioning efficiency and may even damage the HVAC equipment.
Why should I perform preventive maintenance?
Heating and cooling systems work incredibly hard to perform their functions for your household or business. The constant stopping, starting and continual operation can wear down a machine quickly and unexpectedly if the proper care and maintenance is delayed. However, by performing preventive maintenance, or servicing your system regularly, you can maximize the life-cycle of your heating or cooling unit and guard against many unexpected failures.
Preventive maintenance inspections performed on a regular basis can uncover leaks, rust, rot, soot, frayed wires, corroded electrical contacts and much more.

Quality repair is key to the functionality and longevity of your system. We guarantee the quality of our services!
